Recurrent facial baroparesis on airplane flights relieved by endoscopic sinus surgery: A case report

Facial baroparesis is a rare transient facial nerve palsy caused by compression of the tympanic segment nerve. However, otolaryngologists are lacking sufficient information about course and treatment this disease. We report case relieved endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). A 41-year-old man presented with one-year history recurrent right that only developed during altitude changes in an aircraft. Computed tomography (CT) temporal bone revealed dehiscence portion canal. Based on CT finding clinical course, patient was diagnosed baroparesis. He also chronic rhinosinusitis nasal polyps (CRSwNP), thereafter underwent ESS.
